Every founder profile helps us build a clearer picture of the real scale and landscape of women-led business in Canada. This is the type of data the country doesn't have, because founders like you are so rarely asked.
Filling this out is your first step toward the award, and toward a more accurate count of what women are actually building.

Unlock Application
Once you’ve paid the application fee, you immediately unlock $500+ of Perks!
Applying is FREE for all Elleiance members.
Non-Members pay $50 to apply.

The application takes only about 15 minutes to complete.
A mix of short answer questions and multiple choice, built to surface what matters most: your numbers, your story, and where access could change your trajectory.
This is your chance to show the judges what proximity to capital, and the right rooms, could do for what you've already built.

Women own roughly 40% of Canada's small and medium businesses, but only 2% ever surpass seven figures in revenue. That's not a knowledge gap or a talent gap. It's an access gap, and right now, nobody has good data on exactly how wide it is or why it persists.
Your application becomes part of the research that names it. Past applicant data has already shaped published research on Canada's female founder capital gap, produced in partnership with Athena Collective. This year's applicants will shape what comes next.
The Capital Elle Business Impact Award prize package is $100,000+,
split across 3 unique pillars.
Each pillar exists because it addresses one of the 3 places the access gap shows up most. Not because these are the only barriers women founders face. Because they've consistently been the widest ones. Every pillar winner receives $5,000 cash, deposited directly, plus a year of curated support from the experts in that pillar.
You apply to one pillar. Not the whole award; the pillar that matches where your business actually needs access right now. The application is built to respect your time. About 90% of it is checkboxes, dropdowns, and yes/no questions. There are only a few short answers, and they exist for one reason: to help the judges make a fair decision, not to make you write a novel.
Applications open September 2. Winners are announced in early December. Prizes are distributed throughout 2027.

For the founder who knows her next level is on the other side of an external capital raise. This isn't a Series A pitch. It's the real mix every business actually needs to fund its next stage: grants, bank financing, private investment, and the people who know how to combine them. Grant writers, capital specialists, financial modelers, and lawyers work with the winner to build that plan.
Acquisition Opportunities
For the founder ready to grow through acquisition, whether that's buying her first business or expanding an existing one. Very few women are exposed to acquisition, ownership transitions, or the advisors who make them possible.
