Announcing The Winners: The 2025 Capital Elle Business Impact Award

The 2025 Capital Elle Business Impact Award was created to flip the script on who gets funded in Canada by challenging outdated systems and outdated expectations. Led by Erin Sisko, Founder of The Elleiance Network, and backed by more than 30 national partners, this award directs visibility, capital, and community support to Canadian women entrepreneurs building meaningful impact in some of the country’s most overlooked sectors.

This national initiative distributes worth $50,000 in cash and services, including: 1st Place $25,000 prize package, 2nd Place $10,000 prize package, 3rd Place $5,000 prize package, Top 10 Finalists $1,300 prize package each. All funding is non-repayable and non-dilutive. No loans. No equity. No strings attached.

This award is more than funding.

It is a movement.

It is for the women who have been told no. For the women denied support because they didn’t fit a checklist. For the women who built their businesses anyway.

Erin, The Elleiance Network Founder, created this award because she witnessed the gap firsthand. After a decade in commercial banking, she saw women consistently overlooked, undervalued, and underfunded, not because they lacked leadership, but because the system wasn’t built for them. Instead of accepting that reality, she walked away and built something better: a community, a network, and now, a national initiative committed to making women visible, supported, and resourced.

And after months of anticipation, evaluation, and celebration…

Now let’s get to the announcement we’ve all been waiting for…

Meet the Top 3 Winners of the 2025 Capital Elle Business Impact Award:

1st Place:
Danielle Skogen

Founder, Danielle Skogen Coaching + Consulting

Website: www.danielleskogen.com

Danielle Skogen is a feminist life and leadership coach, consultant, strategist, and advocate committed to building a world where all women can lead with power, purpose, and possibility.

Her journey began in the mountains of Guatemala, where she witnessed the daily violence and barriers facing young girls in the community she served. Determined to create change, Danielle co-founded SERniña, a grassroots girls empowerment nonprofit launched in partnership with the REALgirl Foundation. What started as a seed of an idea has grown into an international organization serving thousands of girls and their families across multiple high-risk communities. Danielle co-created more than 700 hours of empowerment and leadership curriculum and helped raise over 2 million dollars for women and youth-centered causes.

Today, Danielle brings her global lens, expertise, and powerful methodology to her coaching and consulting practice. As a Feminist Life Coach, she works one-on-one with women to help them overcome personal and systemic barriers, reclaim their confidence, and step into lives rooted in purpose and joy. Her practice integrates intersectional feminism, human rights, and social activism to produce meaningful, long-lasting transformation.

As a coach and consultant for feminist organizations and purpose-driven leaders, Danielle helps launch programs, nonprofits, and social enterprises that are changing communities around the world. Her work spans leadership coaching, strategic planning, fundraising strategy, gender equity program design, and systems change.

Danielle’s mission is simple and profound: When women rise, communities rise. And she is here to help build that world.

2nd Place:
Kimberly Manning

Founder, Wealth Inside Out

Website: www.wealthinsideout.ca

Kimberly Manning is a Financial Empowerment Coach with 22 years of finance experience and a deeply personal mission: helping women heal their relationship with money and step into true financial confidence.

After nearly two decades in the banking industry, Kimberly saw a pattern that transformed her life’s work. Women were being underserved, misunderstood, and unsupported. The emotional, mental, and lived realities behind their financial decisions were often ignored. Determined to create something different, she founded Wealth Inside Out, a trauma-informed coaching and advisory practice that blends financial strategy with emotional healing.

A single mother who rebuilt her life and business from the ground up, Kimberly brings lived experience, compassion, and clarity to every woman she supports. She works primarily with women navigating money independently, including single mothers, divorced women, and professionals carrying heavy financial responsibilities.

Through her coaching programs, Kimberly guides women to:

  • Release fear and financial shame

  • Understand their money patterns

  • Rebuild trust in themselves

  • Create aligned financial plans

  • Make empowered decisions

  • Build long-term security and legacy

Wealth Inside Out is redefining wealth for women in Canada. Not by numbers alone, but through confidence, clarity, and choice.

Kimberly believes that when women rise financially, entire communities rise with them. Her work ensures they have the support to do exactly that.

3rd Place:
Jessica Flynn

Founder & CEO, The YOU Power Project

Website: www.theyoupowerproject.com

Jessica Flynn is an award-winning educator, social entrepreneur, and changemaker dedicated to reimagining how young people learn, lead, and launch their ideas into the world.

As the Founder and CEO of The YOU Power Project, Jessica has helped hundreds of youth ages 10 to 18 build operational businesses before they graduate high school. Her experiential programs, including Passion to Purpose and Student Ventures, consistently achieve 80 to 90 percent venture launch rates, a remarkable benchmark in youth entrepreneurship.

Jessica began her career as a high school educator, where she saw a gap between traditional education and the real-world skills students needed. She transformed this insight into a social enterprise that now partners with schools, municipalities, governments, and organizations across Canada and internationally.

YPP is currently expanding globally through proposals backed by Global Affairs Canada for pilot projects in Kenya and Ethiopia, integrating entrepreneurship education into vocational and school systems.

Jessica is also the host of the television show EmpowerED with Jessica Flynn, a speaker, consultant, and advocate for systems-level education reform. She is driven by one belief: When we empower young people, we strengthen the fabric of our communities.
